Coping with stress during the outbreak
You might experience the following:
- Feeling stressed or overwhelmed
- Anxiety, worry, or fear
- Sadness, tearfulness, and/or loss of interest
- Physical symptoms (heart rate, stomach upset, low energy, or other uncomfortable sensations)
- Frustration, irritability, or anger
- Feeling helpless
- Difficulty concentrating or sleeping
- Isolating or withdrawing from others, and/or fear of going to public spaces
Strategies to cope with stress:
- Acknowledge your feelings
- Maintain your normal daily routine where possible
- Stay connected
- Seek accurate information
- Set limits around news and social media
- Follow protection and prevention recommendation provided by qualified health professionals
- Seek support – if you are in isolation online therapy might be an option
